Science Museum

We’re excited to announce an upcoming educational trip for our Year 1 and Year 2 classes to the Science Museum in South Kensington. This visit is a fantastic fit for our current learning on explorers and inventors, with plenty of hands-on, curiosity-led experiences to spark questions, ideas, and inspiration.

Educational Links

The Science Museum is packed with interactive areas and real-world inventions that bring STEAM learning to life. On the day, children will have opportunities to:

  • Explore age-appropriate galleries and interactive exhibits

  • Discover how inventions change the way we live

  • Learn about famous inventors, ideas and breakthroughs

This is an incredible opportunity to take classroom learning beyond the centre and into a world-class museum setting – encouraging independent thinking, scientific inquiry and a love of learning.

There are no additional costs for the outing and will be a full educational day with TechBloq staff supervising throughout.

Trip Details

  • Date: Tuesday 3rd February

  • Venue: Science Museum, South Kensington

  • Travel: Walk to Plaistow Station, taking the Tube to South Kensington

  • Times: Student arrival at TechBloq: 8:30am; departure for museum: 9:15am. Return to TechBloq by: 2:30pm, normal collection at 3pm

What Children Need to Bring

  • Comfortable clothing and footwear

  • Packed lunch and water bottle in small backpack

  • Any essential medication (clearly labelled)

Permission & Attendance

We require all parents to complete the permission form below so that we can finalise numbers and confirm staffing and safety arrangements.

Deadline for form submission: Monday 2nd February

We hope that all students will be able to attend, as this trip forms an important and engaging part of their learning this term.
Please note that students who are not attending the trip will not have a lesson at TechBloq on the trip day, as staff will be accompanying the group.

Important: This consent form is only for existing TechBloq students in the Years 1 & 2 classes. If your child does not currently attend TechBloq or is not in this class, please do not complete this form. Any payments made in error will be refunded, but please note a processing fee will be deducted.
