Teaching Position: Year 3-4 Home Education Teacher

We are looking for an enthusiastic and proactive educator to teach a small group of home-educated students (Years 3-4) in a supportive, engaging learning environment. This role involves delivering three sessions per week, covering Maths, Literacy and STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts and Maths) to complement and support parents who have chosen to home educate.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Plan and deliver engaging, dynamic and interactive lessons tailored to the needs and abilities of a mixed-ability class.
  • Create a stimulating learning environment that fosters curiosity and confidence in learning.
  • Adapt teaching methods and materials to support individual progress while encouraging group collaboration.
  • Offer fresh and exciting educational experiences.
  • Encourage hands-on, inquiry-based learning, especially within STEAM subjects.

What Makes This Role Unique?

  • Small Class Sizes – More time to focus on quality teaching and individual learning needs.
  • Flexibility – While National Curriculum knowledge is useful, there’s room for creativity in lesson planning without the pressure of rigid curriculum requirements.
  • Supportive Community – Work alongside engaged families who are actively involved in their children’s education.
  • Teamwork – We work collaboratively when creating new project ideas and are always ready to provide guidance and advice for planning and teaching in our unique centre.
  • Exciting, Practical Teaching – More focus on real-world learning, projects and interactive lessons rather than strict assessments.

Ideal Candidate:

  • Experience in teaching (formal or informal) is highly beneficial.
  • Ability to plan independently and deliver engaging, well-structured sessions.
  • Passionate about alternative education models and student-led learning.
  • Comfortable differentiating for a range of abilities within the class.
  • Enthusiastic about making learning enjoyable, relevant and hands-on.

This is a fantastic opportunity for an educator who values creativity, flexibility and meaningful teaching without the constraints of a traditional school setting.
