Goldilocks and the Three Bears

Mother & Toddler Session: Nov 3rd 2022

Nice session with positive feedback from the mums who attended.

Activities:

  • Which cup holds more?
  • Can you decorate your bowl?
  • Real life examples to show the language of size

We reduced the number of activities available to keep it more focussed.

One mum, who was hesitant about giving scissors to her child (he was not allowed to use them before), was surprised when he used the scissors safely to cut around his bowl.

We read the book at the end of the session with the lights switched off. This helped with the noise level and the children were more engaged with the story.

Learning objectives of activities:

  • Listening attentively to a story
  • Recalling the story
  • Developing communication and language by discussing the story
  • Developing fine motor skills
  • Expressive arts
  • Language of size
  • Understanding size around environment
  • Establishing relationships with others, sharing, taking turns and so on.
