  • Encourage and challenge confident learners to develop their skills further.
  • Foster a positive and nurturing learning environment that promotes self-confidence and enthusiasm for learning.
  • Use effective teaching strategies, including phonics and reading fluency techniques, to support early, hesitant readers in Lower Key Stage 2 (LKS2).
  • Provide clear explanations, guided practice and personalised feedback (when requested by parents) to help students progress.
  • Work collaboratively with the centre’s team to uphold our ethos and values.

Ideal Candidate:

  • Experience working with primary-aged children in an educational setting.
  • Knowledge of KS1-Lower KS2 curriculum (or willingness to train)
  • Good understanding of phonics and reading development, particularly for children who are not yet fluent readers in LKS2.
  • Ability to differentiate instruction to cater to students working at varying levels.
  • A patient, encouraging and supportive approach to teaching.
  • Passionate about making learning enjoyable and fostering confidence in young students.

Minimum Requirements

  • GCSEs (or equivalent) in English and Maths at Grade 4 (C) or above; (Grade 5 desirable)

  • Competent in core primary curriculum areas (Maths, English, Phonics)

Applicants with higher qualifications (A-Levels, Level 3/4 teaching support qualifications, degrees, PGCE/QTS, etc.) are also encouraged to apply.

  • Have a genuine passion for education and child development
  • Can work independently and as part of a supportive team
  • Show a willingness to learn and progress professionally
